History

Spencer was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan but moved to Texas at 17 years old where he was saved, baptized and filled with the Holy Spirt at Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas. Bible College became his ministry bootcamp to prepare for a life of prayer, worship and ministry of God’s Word.

Cyndy was born in Marshall, Texas and lived close to Houston until attending high school in Bossier City, Louisiana. After a semester at Panola Junior College in Carthage, Texas she became a Baptist summer missionary in West Yellowstone, Montana. She returned to Texas and also became a student at Christ For The Nations Institute.

Spencer & Cyndy met in a Child Evangelism class at Bible College & quickly became part of a Traveling Music & Drama Group called Glory Company.
After a 1976 summer ministry trip across the Eastern United States, Spencer & Cyndy were married and began their lives together.

They started Nordyke Ministries in 1977 and began ministering in various capacities. They began working in a church with 50 people as the youth & children’s pastors.

They were with that church for almost 10 years and saw it grow to over 8,000 people. They started developing teams to help evangelize and minister at conferences both here in the states and abroad. They did youth conferences called Youth WAVE & also hosted the youth meetings for the Kenneth Copeland Believer’s Conventions for almost 10 years.
Their ministry background includes pastoring an independent youth church for 10 years.

They are ordained through Eagle Mountain International Church, at Kenneth Copeland Ministries, and they continue to be involved with EMIC as their home church.
